Reuse of Public Sector Information Regulations 2005 Training

The Reuse of Public Sector Information Regulations (PSI) came into force on July 1st 2005. The Regulations provide a mechanism for the public to:
- take possession of any information created using public funds for the purpose of reuse – either for personal, professional or commercial purposes (including resale for profit);
- imposes on public authorities a duty to offer information to reuse and a prohibition on exclusive agreements regarding the provision of information to third parties.
A half-day course designed for Information Officers, Records managers and those involved in FOI management and undertaken at clients premises.

On completion of the Workshop, participants will

understand the PSI regulations and the objectives of Government for reuse of information;

understand the requirements of an Information Asset Register and how to build and maintain one;

understand the principles of licensing and the options for licensing schemes;

understand the complaints and enforcement processes and the governing authorities;

understand the process for andling an application and the exemptions.
