European Structural Funds - ERDF & ESF
With over €9 billion available to the UK in the 2007 - 2013 period there is still substantial support available from the EU. However the development of a successful application is only the start. Project delivery, financial accounting, activity and benefit recording and project evaluation are all requirements of EU support that often require external advise and support.

Framework Programmes - FP6 & FP7
The 7th Research Framework Programme (FP7) brings together all of the support available from the EU for research and development. There are significant opportunities for project support, however as with all EU funds, significant responsibilities as well. A clear understanding of not just the research and project idea, but also the management and reporting of the project in EU terms is vital for success.
FP6 projects are still ongoing, or drawing to a close. To ensure that there are no issues with project closure, clear understanding of EU audit and financial procedures is critical, as is records management expertise.

Specialist EU Funds and Programmes
There are a number of specialist EU funds available for specific reasons, to specific areas or organisations. Often these are limited in budget and competitive in nature. External assistance can be advantageous in understanding and secure these forms of support.
